Suntec Singapore Strengthens Leadership Team

Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of two new directorships, Mr Daniel Ang as Director of Operations and Ms Bibiana Lau as Director of Sales.

Mr Daniel Ang, Director of Operations: In his new role as Director of Operations, Daniel will head the daily operational management of Singapore’s leading conventions and exhibitions centre; a venue that hosts an average of 1,500 events annually. In this function, he is responsible for the largest division that includes Food Production, Banquet Operations, Facilities Management, Housekeeping, Stewarding, Security and Fire Safety, Quality Service, Information Technology, Audio Visual and Joaquim Buffet Restaurant.

Daniel joined Suntec Singapore in 2005 as Senior Manager, Exhibition Sales where he was responsible for securing key events such as ITB Asia and JEC Composites to Suntec Singapore. He later spent time in the Business Development Division evaluating several new initiatives as well as spearheading the development and implementation of TouchPoint – a mobile interactive display for the centre. During the course of his career at Suntec Singapore and previous employment, Daniel gained valuable insights on operational and logistical aspects of delivering a successful event from both a client and supplier point of view.

Prior to Suntec Singapore, Daniel was with CityNeon Exhibition Services (Shanghai), where he was responsible for developing and establishing the sales and marketing initiatives for its Shanghai office. Daniel holds a B.A. from the University of Canberra, Australia.

Ms Bibiana Lau, Director of Sales: In her new role as Director of Sales, Bibiana will be responsible for strengthening Suntec Singapore’s sales initiatives, calculated business direction as well as implementing sales strategies and driving sales performance. Reporting directly to Director of Commercial, Mr Ong Wee Min, she will also be accountable for enhancing revenue growth in the traditional MICE segments of the venue’s core business.

Bibiana joined Suntec Singapore in November 2006 as Senior Manager, Convention Sales and has progressively taken on leadership positions with additional responsibilities over the years. She has consistently achieved high levels of accomplishments. Under her dedicated leadership the venue has secured and hosted several prominent events such as the Singapore International Water Week, Singapore International Energy Week, Singapore Garden Festival, FDI Annual World Dental Congress 2009 as well as the International Conference on Emergency Medicine 2010, to name a few.

A graduate of Glasgow Caledonian University, UK; Bibiana is also a Certified Meeting Professional since 2004, a program that recognises individuals who have achieved the industry's highest standard of professionalism.
