Starwood has launched a “Book and Play” promotion that is designed to encourage meeting planners to book more meetings and group stays at its properties.

As an incentive for meeting planners, Starwood is giving away Apple products for a minimum group spend of US$5,000 at starwoodmeetings.com/bookandplay.

The more the planner books, the more attractive the rewards. For US$5,000 worth of spending, meeting planners will receive an Apple iPod shuffle. For US$8,000 spent - an Apple iPod nano; for US$12,000 - an iPod touch; and, for US$20,000 - an iPad2 (WiFi).

To qualify for the giveaways, bookings must be made by 31 December 2011 for group stay dates prior to 15 February 2012. The qualifying amount is based on individual bookings, and other terms and conditions apply.

In addition, meeting planners can also look forward to an extra bonus of 1,000 StarPoints for every 25 room nights confirmed at the time of booking.

Starwood Vice President, Sales - Asia Pacific, Ms Alison Taylor, said, “We are pleased to launch this Book and Play offer as part of our Starwood Preferred Planner programme. It is our way of thanking meeting planners for their support. We are constantly exploring ways to cater to their needs; including having a MICE-centric website and offering various meeting products such as downloadable meeting fact sheets and dedicated meetings microsites for selected destinations.”
