The new 24-room Kiridara Luang Prabang hotel is to host a special Autumn Yoga retreat.

Hosting the retreat is Malaysian born Ms Shiang Ying. Shane, as she is known, has been blessed with the opportunity to study with a wide variety of teachers, all of whom have shaped her teaching and practice.

With an integration of myofascial anatomy and fascial meridian concepts, Shane's classes are accessible to students of every background and lineage, helping them to find greater depth and awareness in their practice - and in their lives.

She is deeply inspired in bridging the healing power of Yoga with Western medicine, connecting the dots and completing the circle in forming a truly holistic path of well-being.

Shane spends half of the year in Bangkok, Thailand, where she and her husband co-direct the Yoga studio - Yoga Elements. The other half of the year, she can be found teaching and conducting workshops around the world.

Over the weekend daily morning and late afternoon classes will focus on Yoga Asana for restoring and maintaining well-being, flexibility and vitality, Pranayama for the regulation of breath for extension of life and enhancement of perception and Meditation to touch the spiritual essence that exists within us all.

In the morning Asana practice, guests will learn to move vigorously while having movement synchronized with breath. While you may expect to sweat and tone up some muscles clarity and ease through Vinyasa Yoga will also be offered to the mind.

In the afternoon, the Yin Yoga is characterized by passive holding of Asanas, performed to stretch out the connective tissues, promote greater range of motion and improved mobility around the joints. Also known as Taoist Yoga it helps to promote flow of Chi (life sustaining forces) through the meridian (subtle energy) channels.

The inspiring space for the Yoga practice will take place in the sala situated at the top of Kiridara taking in commanding views across a stunning Luang Prabang scene and famous Mount Phou si.

The weekend also offers an opportunity to experience complimentary use of one of Laos most time honored cleansing traditions, the herbal steam bath. Using herbs grown and nurtured within the grounds of our spas own medicinal garden.
