Daydream Island Resort and Spa is assuring guests it is still open for business, and has not been affected by the Queensland floods.

Resort owner Vaughan Bullivant said the Whitsundays resort was still fully operational and there was no need for guests to cancel bookings.

“It has been devastating to see the tragic stories of homes and families destroyed by the floods in Central and Southern Queensland. Our thoughts go out to everyone directly affected by this terrible tragedy,” he said. “We are extremely fortunate that Daydream Island has been unaffected by the floods and in fact has been experiencing excellent weather of late. We would like to assure everyone that the Whitsundays are not flooded, the airports are open and there is no reason to cancel holidays ... We are well and truly open for business and hope that we may be able to offer anyone who needs a break from the devastation and clean-up a wonderful holiday experience on our tropical island paradise.”

Daydream is currently offering special rates from A$189 per room, per night including full buffet breakfast and a free room upgrade. The resort says it will also donate A$20 from every booking to the Queensland Flood Relief Fund. Terms and conditions apply.
