Philippine Airlines is re-staging the PAL Ladies Interclub golf tournament after an absence of 25 years.

The 4th edition of the PAL Ladies Interclub, with the theme - She Swings - will be staged 11 - 14 October 2011 at the Ranchos Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club in Davao City.

“We are reviving the PAL Ladies Interclub to give amateur lady golfers the same excitement, competitive play and strong camaraderie cultivated in the 64-year-old PAL Men's Interclub,” said Dina May Flores, chairperson of the PAL Executive Committee of the Ladies Interclub. “We are inviting women golfers of any golf club from the Philippines or abroad to participate in the event.”

Amateur lady golfers of any age can form a team while those already belonging to a golf club are eligible to join the revived tournament whose format is based on the PAL Seniors Interclub.

The four-day, four-to-play, three-to-count per day, team event will apply the Molave scoring system. Under tournament rules, each player will compete in two of the four days of the tournament. Each team is required to submit a line-up of minimum of 6 and maximum of 8 players.

The ceremonial tee-off on 10 October at Rancho Palos Verdes will be followed by the 2nd team captains meeting. The 1st team captains meeting will be on 4 August 2011.

Aside from the typically colorful awards night on the last day (14 October), organizers are spicing up the traditional Interclub schedule with surprises to keep lady golfers in high spirits in and out of the golf course.

The last PAL Ladies Interclub was staged in 1986 at Cebu Country Club where lady golfers from Camp Aguinaldo emerged overall champion.

In September 1985, the 2nd edition, also held at Cebu, was ruled by lady golfers from Villamor Golf Club.
