Royal Orchid Sheraton in Bangkok Completes $35 Million Renovation

The Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers, Bangkok’s largest Starwood hotel, located by the Chao Phraya River, has completed a $35-million renovation.

The extensive renovation is part of a $6 billion brand-wide global revitalization effort, which includes upgrading 180 hotels around the world; renovating 70,000 guestrooms; and introducing new, innovative features.

The largest Sheraton hotel in Thailand, Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers boasts 726 guestrooms and suites and 133,000 square feet of meeting space.

The guestrooms now feature a Sweet Sleeper bed, a 42” LCD flat-panel television, oversized work desks and more comfortable seating. All rooms now also contain Sheraton’s newly launched spa product, ‘Shine by Sheraton’ as standard bathroom amenities, a state-of-the-art entertainment system, and an upgraded high-speed internet connection to ensure that out of town does not mean out of reach.

Solely for the use of Towers’ guests, the new Towers Lounge has been relocated to the 27th floor, offering views of Bangkok and the River of Kings.

The hotel’s new public space has been redesigned as a setting for social gathering and interaction - with a decidedly modern outlook. On the mezzanine floor, the “Link@Sheraton experienced with Microsoft” enables today’s travelers to stay connected, with instant access to information and technology for work, leisure and social networking.

The new salt-water Terrace Pool, adjacent to Sheraton Fitness, will complete a visit to the gym with a relaxing swim or perhaps just a splash around with friends and family.

For a new culinary delight, guests can enjoy Sambal bar and grill, the hotel’s hottest dining venue by the riverside terrace, which features a new look and resort ambience and offers a relaxing area for the occasional cocktail and view of the scenic ambience that surrounds the hotel.
