Regent Hotels & Resorts has switched its global distribution system (GDS) chain code, RE, to the SynXis Central Reservation System (CRS) on Monday (14 November 2011).

In addition to GDS distribution, Regent hotels will gain the full benefit of Sabre Hospitality Solutions’ marketing across all channels, including online travel agents (OTA), direct connects, the Guest Connect website booking engine, call centre services and mobile booking platforms.

“Sabre Hospitality Solutions has proven to be flexible to accommodate the unique and customised needs of the Regent brand. We received numerous positive testimonials about Sabre’s successful implementation process, which was a critical factor in our selection criteria,” said Ralf Ohletz, President of Regent Hotels & Resorts. “The breadth of hospitality solutions and experience Sabre Hospitality Solutions provides will be a powerful benefit to us as we continue to grow.”

Regent was founded in the 1970s and gained international recognition in 1980 with the opening of The Regent Hong Kong. In 2010, the Regent brand was acquired by Formosa International Hotels Corporation (FIHC), one of the largest and most profitable hotel companies listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange. Formosa has been using Sabre for its other hotel brands.

Regent hotels in Beijing, Berlin, Taipei, Turks & Caicos, Singapore and Zagreb can now be booked via SynXis.
