The Paresa Phuket resort is celebrating the moon cake festival this year with a selection of moon cakes including one very special Gold and Diamond moon cake which is priced at US$8,888.

Scot Toon, Paresa’s creeative General Manager, explained “We have had many couples propose to each other, get married here, honeymoon or spend an anniversary here at Paresa, so we felt that making this special gold and diamond moon cake would give some of our couples the opportunity to give a very special, unique and memorable moon cake to each other to share.”

The popular tradition of giving moon cakes to friends and family during the Mid-Autumn festival started in the Yuan Dynasty.

The Gold and Diamond Moon Cake, is filled with a decadently sweet yellow bean and gold paste with a rich Crème patisserie yolk centre. This is surrounded by a soft and golden baked, cognac scented pastry and enveloped in gold, topped with a one carat diamond.

The moon cake is presented in a Thai Silk box with a bottle of Bottega Gold Prosecco from Italy, and is available to order from the resort up until the 18 September 2011.

Paresa will organize a romantic table on their infinity pool surrounded by stars where the gentleman can propose with this unique and luxurious gold and diamond moon cake.

Paresa will also be celebrating the full moon with its celebrated full moon dinner for lovers, on the resort’s miracle lawn. Guests can dine under the light of the stars and full moon on 12 September where some other moon cakes appear on the menu.

A short 40-minutes from Phuket International Airport, Paresa is within easy access of picturesque, Kamala village.

The resort comprises 49 guest pool suites and pool villas each offering uninterrupted 270° views across the Andaman Sea. All rooms at Paresa feature super king size beds dressed in white linens, feather pillows and duvets, while private exterior verandahs are made all the more enticing and relaxing with daybeds or sun lounges. For those desiring contact with the outside world, WiFi internet access is provided, while the In Villa Bar, espresso machine, LCD TV, DVD player, iPod and sound station cater to every mood and desired form of entertainment.
