Costa Romantica to Replace Costa Allegra in Asia

 Costa Cruises is to increase passenger capacity in Asia by replacing Costa Allegra with Costa Romantica.

Costa Romantica, a 53,000 gross-tonnage ship with a guest capacity of 1,697, will operate 30 cruises that depart from Singapore, Tianjin and Shanghai to the finest cities of Asia during the remaining part of year 2010, giving the possibility to over 50,000 additional Costa guests to join her itineraries between 17 April and 20 November 20, 2010 to various culturally rich journeys to ports of call in Vietnam, the Philippines, Brunei, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan.

“The arrival of Costa Romantica in Hong Kong reinforces our ongoing commitment to Asia’s cruise industry. We strongly believe in the potential of the region and will further develop the markets in order to make cruising a popular holiday choice for Asian travellers,” said Dario Rustico, Sales and Marketing Director of Costa Cruises’ Pacific Asia Operations.

Costa Cruises will have a total of 97 sailings available in Asia during 2010 with three ships operating in the area.

Costa Romantica has 678 cabins including 24 suites and 10 grand suites with private balconies. Guests can enjoy a panoramic view from the large windows and embrace the sun on the sophisticated pool deck that accommodates two swimming pools and four Jacuzzis. Costa Romantica also offers an authentic Italian cruising experience where guests can enjoy exquisite Italian gourmet cuisine at the three restaurants or participate in onboard activities such as Italian cooking classes, Italian language classes, just to name a few.

“We want Costa Romantica to be the perfect place for our guests to find or rediscover romance during their cruising experience,” Mr. Rustico added.

Honeymoon couples can take advantage of Costa’s Special Honeymoon Voyage package, priced from just HK$ 5,686, on a journey from Shanghai to Japan and Korea between the end of August and early October.

Contemporary furnishings, relaxing colours and goddess-like statues reflect Costa Romantica’s elegance and charm. The more active- inclined guests can also satisfy their needs on Costa Romantica as she houses a fitness centre, an outdoor jogging track, and a disco. Costa Romantica is currently making its eastbound journey from Mauritius after completing its Indian Ocean itineraries.
