Senior Management Appointments at HSH - Peninsula

The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels Limited, parent company of The Peninsula Hotels, has made the following senior management changes: Ms. Rainy Chan will be promoted to be Area Vice-President, Hong Kong and Thailand while retaining her role as General Manager, The Peninsula Hong Kong. Mr. Nicolas Beliard, currently Resident Manager of The Peninsula Hong Kong, will be promoted to be General Manager of The Peninsula Bangkok. Both promotions are effective on 1 May 2010. Mr. Beliard is replacing Mr. Charles Morris, who will be leaving his post at the end of April.

Ms. Rainy Chan joined HSH in 1994 and was appointed General Manager of The Peninsula Hong Kong in April 2007.

Born and educated in Hong Kong, Ms. Chan began her hospitality career in Maui, Hawaii in 1989 and became Front Office Manager at The Peninsula Hong Kong in 1994. Successive promotions within the Group saw her taking on the Resident Manager role at Peninsula New York and General Manager roles at Peninsula hotels in Bangkok and Hong Kong.

In her new capacity, Ms. Chan will, in addition to her continuing role as General Manager of The Peninsula Hong Kong, oversee the operation of The Peninsula Bangkok.

Mr. Nicolas Beliard joined HSH in 2009 as Resident Manager of The Peninsula Hong Kong.

Born in France and educated in the US with a Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University, a Master of Business Administration from the Crummer Graduate School of Management and a Master of Management in Hospitality from the Cornell School of Management, Mr. Beliard began his hotel career in St. Tropez, France. He progressively reached senior positions with international luxury hotels such as Four Seasons hotels in New York, Paris, the West Indies and Geneva, as well as Mandarin Oriental hotel in Miami.
