Pan Pacific Hotels Group has appointed Cheryl Ng as Public Relations Manager, Singapore.

In this newly-created role, Cheryl will develop and drive the Public Relations function for Pan Pacific Hotels Group’s four properties in Singapore - Pan Pacific Singapore and Pan Pacific Orchard, as well as PARKROYAL on Beach Road and PARKROYAL on Kitchener Road. Reporting to Area Director of Marketing, Daniel Tan, her responsibilities will include developing public relations strategies to support business and performance goals.

Prior to her new appointment, Cheryl drove public relations and marketing communications activities at Pan Pacific Singapore for four years. She was instrumental in garnering for the hotel important local and international publicity in that time – including during international marquee events such as Formula One Singapore and the 2006 Annual Meetings by International Monetary Fund.

With a background in journalism, Cheryl was with Shangri-La Singapore before joining Pan Pacific Singapore in 2005. She specialised in Economics and English at the University of Melbourne in Australia.

“This is an exciting role as we are one of the largest hospitality owner-operators in Singapore and I’m looking forward to achieving synergies from leveraging on our joint competitive advantages,” said Cheryl Ng. “The hospitality industry in Singapore will be significantly more competitive in 2010 with new players entering the market and hotels will need to rely on sound marketing and public relations initiatives to maintain their edge.”
