Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Videos Monday, 3 May 2010

China Airlines and Delta Air Lines have expanded their codeshare cooperation.

China Airlines and Delta Air Lines first inked a codeshare agreement in 2003. Now, since 1 May 2010, CAL passengers can fly to Guatemala City, Atlanta, Cincinnati and other codeshare flights via Los Angeles, San Francisco or Anchorage. With codeshare cooperation, CALs operation in the US covers markets on the East Coast, West Coast, Midwest and South with total 14 routes.

Delta also placed its codes on China Airlines flights from Anchorage, Honolulu, Los Angeles, New York (JFK) and San Francisco to Taipei, and onward to South East Asia including Kuala Lumpur, Hanoi, Chiang Mai and Penang, etc.

The expansion of the codeshare cooperation means that more CAL and Delta passengers traveling from the U.S. to Asia, or from Taiwan to the U.S., can enjoy more efficient and seamless connections and services.

In addition to Delta, China Airlines also has codeshare cooperation with Alitalia, Thai Airways, Korean Air, Garuda Indonesia, Vietnam Airlines, Czech Airlines and Deutsche Bahn German Rail System.
