Relais & Châteaux has expanded its portfolio of members in India. Three new Indian properties - Sher Bagh in Ranthambore (Rajasthan), The Serai in Jaisalmer (Rajasthan), Neeleshwar Hermitage in Malabar Coast (Kerala) - have been accepted as members. These new members join Malabar House (Fort Cochin) and Mahua Kothi (Bandhavgarh Park) which have been members since 2008.

Sher Bagh is a classic 1920 “Raj” style luxury tented camp and offers the perfect retreat for those looking for the authentic Indian ‘Safari Experience’, in Ranthambhore, which is one of the finest places in the world to see wild tigers.

The Serai, Jaisalmer is a luxury desert camp and spa set in a hundred-acre estate of indigenous desert scrub; it is a luxurious base from which to explore the medieval desert Kingdom of Jaisalmer- the property takes inspiration from a royal caravan serai.

Neeleshwar Hermitage is the first boutique hotel on the beautiful unspoiled coast of Malabar. It is an oasis of eco-friendly practices and a refuge for the soul. The Hermitage offers a large variety of ayurvedic and spa treatments, as well as yoga and meditation.

Mr. Jaume Tapies, International President - Relais & Châteaux, said, “India is a country which lures travelers from across the world with its enigmatic personality, versatile landscapes and panoramic views. We are delighted to announce our entry into India and are happy to associate with properties like Sher Bagh and The Serai which ends our quest for idyllic and unique environs, since the two properties are crafted like a dream. These properties are a perfect mélange of exceptional surroundings, spirited service and a superlative gourmet experience and we look forward to an everlasting association with them.”
