Franck Lafourcade appointed General Manager of Sofitel Shanghai Jing’an

Franck Lafourcade has been appointed as General Manager of the Sofitel Shanghai Jing’an with effect from 11 October 2010. The hotel, the fourth Sofitel Luxury Hotels in Shanghai, is scheduled to open in 2011.

Franck will continue in his role of Area General Manager role for Eastern China, until the end of November 2010.

Franck joined Accor in 1984 as Assistant Food & Beverage Manager of the Sofitel Maeva Beach Tahiti in French Polynesia. In 1996, he rejoined Accor and was responsible for the take over and management team of the Hotel Commodore Pusan in Korea. Two years later, Franck successfully opened and managed Hotel Gran Mahakam (Sofitel) Jakarta. In September 2000, he moved to Vietnam to manage the Sofitel Metropole Hanoi.

Franck is the proud recipient of a Silver Bernache in 2009, commending him on his special efforts for developing talent within the company and for being a long term Accor and Sofitel Ambassador.
