Dubai-based Emirates plans to hire over 700 First Officers in addition to Licensed Aircraft Engineers over the next 17 months to support new routes, new aircraft and increased frequencies.

As part of Emirates’ global recruitment drive, the airline’s recruitment team will be hosting information sessions for First Officers at the Holiday Inn Atrium Singapore, 317 Outram Road, Singapore on both 6 and 7 August 2010, commencing at 10am. Presentations for Licensed Aircraft Engineers will be conducted at the same venue on 6 August commencing at 2pm for interested candidates.

These sessions will provide information on Emirates and the selection programme, benefits of living and working in Dubai and details of remuneration packages. Spouses are welcome to attend.

Nick Rees, Emirates’ Manager, Singapore and Brunei, said, “We are currently recruiting experienced and technically proficient First Officers to fly our extensive and rapidly growing international route network. Our First Officer positions offer an invaluable opportunity for ambitious pilots to unlock their potential and discover their future with us. Due to Emirates’ massive expansion plans, pilots at the airline have the opportunity to progress from the First Officer to the Captain’s seat quickly, based on industry norms.”

To apply for the First Officer positions, candidates must have a minimum of 4,000 total and 2,000 multi-engine jet hours; or a total of 2,500 hours on a modern, commercial multi-engine, multi-crew jet aircraft, ICAO ATPL and ICAO English level (4 or above).

Licensed Aircraft Engineer candidates should hold a valid EASA Part 66 Basic Maintenance License or equivalent; have a minimum of five years certifying experience as a license holder; and have certified at least one of the Emirates fleet aircraft types - Boeing 777, Airbus A330, A340 and A380 - within the past two years.
