Wyndham Hotel Group, one of the world’s largest hotel company’s with nearly 7,200 hotels and 12 brands, has opened the Ramada Hotel & Suites Bangkok.

Owned by Sookjai Condominium Co. Ltd, a subsidiary of the Kokar group of companies, the 11-storey hotel features spacious studio and suite accommodations. The larger suite accommodations are particularly well-suited for extended-stay business travelers looking for apartment-size accommodations.

Additional amenities include complimentary continental breakfast, a full-service restaurant and bar, fitness center, business center and large outdoor pool and garden.

“Bangkok continues to be an important and growing market that offers great opportunity for Wyndham Hotel Group and its brands,” said Ken Greene, Wyndham Hotel Group president and managing director, Asia Pacific. “The addition of this newest hotel not only helps to further anchor our presence in Thailand but serves as a wonderful compliment to our growing managed portfolio.”

Located just five minutes from Sukhumvit Road, the Ramada Hotel & Suites Bangkok provides guests with the convenience of a central location while still offering peace and tranquility.

“It is with great excitement that we launch the Ramada Hotel and Suites Bangkok, the first of two projects with Wyndham Hotel Group,” said Charoen Kokar (Timmy), director of the Kokar group of companies. “We are confident that business travelers and discerning holiday makers alike will be drawn to the hotel’s unique value proposition: a sanctuary in the heart of Sukhumvit with a strong product and service offering. With a combined room total of about 400 rooms, we are looking forward to a successful relationship with Ramada, given its knowledge and expertise.”

The Ramada Hotel & Suites Bangkok (Soi 12) is one of the four managed Ramada hotels set to open in Thailand by 2012. Agreements have already been signed on the 8-storey Ramada Encore Bangkok (Soi 10), a new-build property located in the Sukhumvit area; the 37- storey Ramada Hotel Bangkok (Soi 23), located close to the Asok BTS sky train station; as well as the 7-storey Ramada Plaza Bangkok (Soi 15), also owned by Sookjai Condominium Co. Ltd. in the Sukhumvit area.

While the four properties are the company’s first managed hotels in Thailand, Wyndham Hotel Group has a managed portfolio of nearly 30 properties around the globe, including the 588-room Wyndham Xiamen in Xiamen, China; the 600-room Rio Mar Beach Resort and Spa – A Wyndham Grand Resort in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico; and the 162-room Wyndham Grand London Chelsea Harbour in London.

Ramada Worldwide, a member of the Wyndham Hotel Group family of lodging brands, is a global chain of more than 900 midscale and upscale hotels featuring single, double and suite accommodations.
