Qatar Airways in conjunction with the Spanish Tourism Board, has launched a micro-site promoting Spain to Chinese travellers.

The new website has an area where visitors have the opportunity to select and send Spanish themed e-postcards to their friends and relatives, with one lucky sender set to win a free holiday for two to Spain.

The promotional site is designed to boost awareness in the Chinese and Hong Kong markets of the airline’s Spanish network, as well as to inspire travellers to visit Spain.

Customers from China and Hong Kong can book flights to Spain with Qatar Airways departing from any one of four network points across Greater China.

“Qatar Airways is pleased to introduce Spain to travellers from mainland China and Hong Kong. Spain’s escalating popularity among leisure travellers is encouraging for the airline, and we are excited that more Chinese wish to discover the magic of this country,” said Qatar Airways Country Manager Greater China, Woo Yew Seong. “We are excited about working with the Spanish Tourism Board and with our collaborative efforts, we have developed exciting tour programmes specially packaged to meet the needs of Chinese travellers.”

The Qatar Airways and Spanish Tourism Board campaign follows a similar successful promotion that focused on the airline’s route to Casablanca.

Qatar Airways operates a total of 14 weekly flights to Madrid and Barcelona in Spain with varying connection times via Doha.

In China, the airline serves Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong.
