Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Videos Thursday, 28 October 2010

Ascott has launched its private Global Distribution System chain code, ‘AZ’, which will take effect from 1 December 2010.

With Ascott’s new GDS code, travel management companies and travel agents will have immediate access to Ascott’s global inventory of over 20,000 operating apartment units in more than 160 properties in Asia Pacific, Europe and the Gulf region.

Ascott’s new ‘AZ’ code will be available across four major GDS providers – Amadeus, Sabre, Worldspan and Galileo.

Mr Tony Soh, Chief Corporate Officer, The Ascott Limited, said, “As the world’s largest international serviced residence owner-operator, it is timely for Ascott to launch our unique GDS code. Our new ‘AZ’ code will make it more efficient for bookers at travel management companies and travel agents to access rates and availability of our properties. By making the booking process easier for our travel partners, thereby helping them to better serve their customers, we will further strengthen Ascott’s position as the serviced residence provider of choice among travel management companies and travel agents.”

The introduction of Ascott’s private GDS code follows the recent launch of its Best Rate Guarantee initiative which offers travellers the best possible internet rates when they make reservations through the websites of Ascott’s three brands, Ascott, Citadines and Somerset.
