Matahari Beach Resort in Bali Celebrates 15th Anniversary with Free Room Promotion

The Matahari Beach Resort & Spa, a Relais & Châteaux resort, is celebrating its 15th anniversary in Bali with a 15% discount on room rates plus four nights for the price of three.

The “15% Anniversary Complement” at Matahari Beach Resort & Spa is available from 31 August 2010 to 30 April 2011. The offer is only valid for direct bookings with the property.

Styled after a traditional Balinese village, the exclusive resort offers a rich diversity of cultural, culinary and pampering / wellness experiences in an almost unknown part of Bali.

The Parwathi Spa offers an extensive menu of Balinese massages, pampering and wellness treatments on a "Holiday for Body and Soul" in beach pavilions overlooking the Java Sea, plus complementary morning yoga sessions.

Individually tailored sightseeing-trips include walking tours through a neighbouring village visiting families specialising in local handicrafts.

Classes to learn traditional craftsmanship such as woodcarving, sculpture and painting are also organised at the resort.

Scuba-diving is organised to the spectacular nearby island of Manjangan through a local dive centre.

Cuisine incorporates organic vegetables grown in a private plantation, and poultry and pigs – for home-made sausages and ham – reared in special farms.

The tropical garden of palms, bougainvillea, hibiscus, frangipani and oleander are an oasis for colourful birdlife which earned the Relais & Chateaux ‘Tranquility Trophy’.

Forging a close relationship with the local community, the resort also launched a Kinder Garden supporting around 40 children with basic education, built a Bale Dusun for local community meetings, and founded a music group that performed at the prestigious Bali Arts Festival.

The resort’s respect for traditional Balinese values earned the Tri Hita Karana Emerald Trophy twice. Matahari Beach Resort & Spa has also been honoured with the Relais & Chateaux Environment Trophy and Asean Green Hotel Standard.
