Mr. Albert Lafuente has been appointed as director of sales and marketing at the Nam Hai resort in Vietnam.

Lafuente, a Philippine national, has a wealth of experience gained by years of association with both independent and chain properties. He was most recently the director of business development at Shangri-La’s regional sales office in Singapore.

At The Nam Hai, Lafuente is tasked with developing new markets to complement the resort’s existing long-haul wholesale business.

“With a new terminal at Danang International Airport scheduled to open by end of year and a second designer golf course (Greg Norman’s Dunes Course at Danang Golf Club) nearing completion, this area has the potential to be Asia’s next great getaway,” said Herbert Laubichler-Pichler, The Nam Hai’s general manager. “Albert’s knowledge of the hotel industry and Asia-Pacific tourism habits enables us to really capitalize on what’s transpiring here.”

The Nam Hai is located on 35 hectares of landscaped tropical gardens just steps from the East Sea and within 10 minutes’ drive of Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Signature features of the property — which is owned by Indochina Land and managed by GHM — include 100 architecturally singular villas; two gourmet restaurants; a tropical spa beside a lagoon; and three beachfront swimming pools.
