Construction has begun on a new Regional Lounge at Coffs Harbour Airport. The new premium lounge will be QantasLinks' first in New South Wales.

"It was not a difficult decision for QantasLink to select Coffs Harbour as the location for our first NSW Regional Lounge," said QantasLink Executive Manager, Mr Narendra Kumar. "Coffs Harbour is an important market for QantasLink that appeals to leisure and business travellers taking advantage of the city's wonderful conference facilities and the region's natural beauty."

The new lounge will reflect the same style as Qantas Clubs throughout Australia and will offer Qantas Club members and Platinum and Gold Frequent Flyers a range of services including:

- complimentary wireless internet
- plasma television with Austar channel facility; and
- a selection of premium refreshments including alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

The new Coffs Harbour Regional Lounge is due to be completed by the end of April 2010 and will join lounges already in operation in Broome, Devonport, Kalgoorlie, Karratha, Launceston, Mackay, Port Hedland and Rockhampton.

QantasLink has been flying to Coffs Harbour since 1992 and this month introduced an additional five Coffs Harbour-Sydney services, taking the total to 33 return services on the route each week operated by the airlines new jet-like 74-seat Q400 aircraft.
