Four Seasons Bangkok to Host Charity Concert

Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Videos Thursday, 19 August 2010

The Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok is hosting a charity concert in aid of the Friends of Ratchaprasong Fund on Thursday, 2 September 2010.

H.E. Admiral M.L. Usni Pramoj, Privy Councillor and accomplished musician, began composing his first String Quartet last April when the nation was facing its most serious turmoil in recent years. As work on the music progressed, a story emerged almost of its own volition.

The first movement portrays rural life, whereas the second movement portrays the red shirt tide of demonstrators sweeping over Bangkok and occupying key areas of the city. The third movement expresses an outpouring of grief, from all sides, for the hurt inflicted upon the nation, while the fourth and last movement does not tell a story, but instead, projects the hope that Thais will find a fair resolution, come together to rebuild the nation so that normalcy shall be restored, to be once again united in peace.

The evening starts at 7:00 pm with a cocktail reception in the Pimarnman Room followed by the performance of the String Quartet after which a four-course set menu will be served.

H.E. Admiral M.L. Usni Pramoj will be on the viola, with Tasana Nagavajara on the first violin and Siripong Tiptan on the second violin, with Kittikhun Sodprasert on the cello.

With the support of the members of the Ratchaprasong Square Trade Association, tickets are being sold for Baht 3,500 net per person.
