Amadeus has launched a mobile version of CheckMyTrip and is further developing a set of free applications designed to enable travellers to easily access and share travel plans on the move, via their mobile phone.

The launch of CheckMyTrip for Mobile comes as part of the ongoing development of the CheckMyTrip web-based platform which enables business and leisure travellers to check the most up-to-date travel itineraries plans via the internet, including amended or cancelled flights.

CheckMyTrip for Mobile allows travellers to now conveniently check the most up-to date itineraries on the go, including hotel, local weather and flight information via their mobile phone at any stage of their journey.

To access CheckMyTrip for Mobile users simply need an internet-enabled mobile phone and an Amadeus booking reference number. They type www.checkmytrip.com into their mobile browser and will then be prompted for their Amadeus reservation number and last name. Once entered, the complete itinerary held within their booking reference will be displayed.

As part of these continued efforts to enhance the functionality of CheckMyTrip, Amadeus has also beta launched the following services:

- CheckMyTrip application for Facebook allowing anyone with a Facebook account to install an application to import and share travel plans booked on the Amadeus system with friends and family

- CheckMyTrip for the Blackberry platform Amadeus is conducting trials to introduce CheckMyTrip to the popular smartphone

And a pilot:

- CheckMyTrip for iPhone allowing users to download and install an application on their iPhone to view their itineraries, available from Apple’s App Store

Ian Wheeler, Vice President, Marketing and Distribution said, “The CheckMyTrip portfolio is steadily expanding with these latest developments, which aim to provide additional services to airlines and travel agencies and therefore their travellers – yet more control and a better all-round trip experience. Development of products for mobile devices will continue, building on Amadeus’ mobile strategy which kicked off last summer with the introduction of a suite of tools aimed at business travellers.”
