The Apollo Hotel Amsterdam, an iconic, 223-room hotel, has joined the upscale Wyndham Hotels and Resorts brand.

The Wyndham Apollo Hotel Amsterdam, the flagship of Apollo Hotels & Resorts, treats guests to a unique location overlooking the only point in Amsterdam where five canals converge. It is near the RAI Trade and Congress Centre, the World Trade Centre Amsterdam, Royal Concert Hall and the city’s museums, shopping districts and night life of the Leidseplein.

The hotel caters to business and leisure travelers as well as groups. Its six multipurpose function rooms can accommodate events of up to 300. Dining facilities include Restaurant La Sirène, known as one of the best seafood restaurants in Amsterdam, the Marina lounge and two waterside outdoor cafes. Other facilities include a gym and business center with administrative support.

“We are proud to be selected as the first Wyndham brand hotel in the Netherlands,” said Francesco Monaco, Apollo Hotels & Resorts managing director. “In recent years we have invested significantly in facilities and service, creating a clear market positioning and enabling us to target a higher-end customer segment.”

Alexander Kluit, Apollo’s business area manager, said the Wyndham Apollo Hotel Amsterdam soon will undergo a major renovation. “The public spaces will get a complete makeover, enabling us to deliver a great new customer experience,” he said. “In addition, all the rooms will be renovated, and the hotel will be expanded to incorporate our new Chill-Out Spa.”

All guest rooms currently are equipped with Phi-ton beds, featuring an award-winning design that “floats” without a sub-frame; high-speed wireless Internet service; minibar; coffee- and tea-making facilities; flat-screen TV; and a spacious work area. Luxury suites offer a separate bedroom and living area.

The Wyndham Apollo Hotel Amsterdam boasts a private harbor and offers dinner and cocktail cruises onboard a classic salon boat. The hotel offers a private car park and is a 20-minute drive from Schiphol airport.

Guests can take advantage of the brand’s guest recognition program, Wyndham ByRequest, which offers complimentary benefits including high-speed Internet access, a choice of welcome snack and beverage, preferred pillow type, express check-in, guaranteed late check-out, best available room upon arrival, photocopies, faxes and online receipts.

The Wyndham Hotel Group portfolio in Europe now includes 232 hotels that span the Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, Days Inn, Howard Johnson, Ramada, Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham and Wyndham-affiliated Corinthia brands. The Wyndham Apollo Amsterdam Hotel joins the brand’s luxury Wyndham Grand London Chelsea Harbour in the United Kingdom and Corinthia hotels in Hungary, Portugal and the Czech Republic.
