The Novotel* IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, a THB 2 billion project, located in Nonthaburi on the outskirts of Bangkok, is scheduled to open in January 2011.

The 10-storey hotel will feature 380 guest rooms of which 276 are Standard Rooms, 46 Deluxe Standard Rooms, 40 Premium Rooms, 4 Handicapped Rooms, 10 Honeymoon Suites A and 4 Honeymoon Suites B. Originally there was a Royal Suite planned for the 10th floor but this has since been cancelled and has been replaced with a club lounge.

Interior works, which start this month, are expected to be completed in October. After that, electrical system is to be installed. The period between October and December 2010 will be when all systems are checked with touch-up works gearing up to the official launch. Standard and Premium mockup rooms are already finished.

*When we spoke to a spokesperson from IMPACT Exhibition Management about this property he admitted that Accor has not yet signed a management contract for the hotel - which means it is not currently officially a Novotel - although he did say that a verbal agreement had already been reached. Teams from Accor are doing inspections, and IMPACT are hoping the management contract will be signed very soon.

Update 3 September 2010: Since this article was written, a spokesperson from IMPACT confirmed with us that a management contract between the two parties has now, finally, been signed.
