Hotel Brand Offers Bonus Points for Online Check-In

Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Videos Thursday, 18 November 2010

The Wingate by Wyndham hotel brand is offering Wyndham Rewards loyalty program members who join Topguest, 50 Wyndham Rewards points when they check-in online at any at any of the chain’s 165 hotel locations.

Topguest, a free mobile application that also can be accessed via its website, enables members to earn points and rewards when they virtually check-in at Topguest-affiliated hotels or hotel restaurants using popular mobile applications including Foursquare and Facebook Places.

These “location-based services” are accessible through mobile devices that use geographical positioning information, or “geolocation,” to determine the user’s location. Users are shown nearby retail stores, hotels and restaurants where they can “check in” to receive special messages, rewards or offers.

“We know that frequent travelers are increasingly using services like Foursquare while on the road,” said Chris Zoeller, Wingate by Wyndham director of marketing. “The Wingate by Wyndham brand always has focused on giving travelers everything they need for one, simple rate. We are now able to give our guests additional benefits with Topguest, in the form of valuable Wyndham Rewards loyalty points.”

Topguest’s free iPhone and Android mobile applications are available as free downloads.

“Topguest aims to provide users of location-based service applications with tangible value for their check-ins,” said Geoffrey Lewis, Topguest co-founder and chief executive officer. “We are excited to partner with the Wingate by Wyndham brand, which focuses on making every guest’s visit a rewarding and valuable experience. Topguest members now have the opportunity to get more out of their travels and easily earn rewards from the Wyndham Rewards loyalty program.”

All Wingate by Wyndham hotels cater to business travelers by offering the services and amenities they need for one simple rate, including hot breakfast daily with freshly-made Belgian waffles, copying and printing in 24-hour business centers, high-speed Internet service, meeting space and exercise facilities.

The hotels offer comfortable guest rooms that are designed to function both as a bedroom and an office with a large, well-lit workspace, in-room microwave and refrigerator, a pillow-top bed and more. All Wingate by Wyndham hotels are individually owned and operated.
