Patrick Schaub joins Oriental Residence Bangkok as General Manager

The Oriental Residence Bangkok, the inaugural property for the newly-announced luxury hotel brand Saffron, has appointed established Bangkok hotelier Patrick Schaub in the role of General Manager.

Prior to taking on this role, Schaub was Hotel Manager at the Plaza Athenee Hotel, Bangkok. In a career that spans more than 16 years, he has held various senior positions in food and beverage management in numerous international destinations, including Switzerland and the USA.

Schaub joined the hotel industry in 1994 when he took on a supervisory role in the food and beverage department of a leading hotel in his native Switzerland. He later worked in the United States with such international hotel groups as The Regent.

He then decided to broaden his international expertise by moving to Thailand to join The Peninsula Bangkok before then moving to the Westin Grande Sukhumvit, also in Bangkok. In his various roles, Schaub has spearheaded strategic revenue management initiatives and been an integral team member of hotel re-branding and pre-opening projects.

The Oriental Residence Bangkok is scheduled to open mid-2011.

Set within an iconic 32 storey building located on Wireless Road, a well-known area in downtown Bangkok, the property will feature 145 serviced apartments within a mixed use development that will also house 47 privately owned condominiums on the upper floors of the building.
