One of the most famous hotels in the world, the One&Only Le Saint Géran in Mauritius, is celebrating its 35th anniversary this October. This special occasion will be marked by a week-long celebration (24 - 29 October) featuring an exciting programme of special events.

The culinary highlights include a Wine Dinner at Spoon des Iles by Alain Ducasse, a Gala Dinner by Michelin-starred chef Vineet Bhatia to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of the Rasoi by Vineet restaurant at the hotel, a Coastal Food Festival at Rasoi, and culminate in the 35th Anniversary Celebration Gala Dinner Buffet. The festivities will also include full moon parties, local musical entertainment, lavish beach barbecues, superb firework displays, golf competitions, tennis tournaments and more.

One&Only Le Saint Géran, named after the sailing ship which perished on nearby reefs in a cruel storm in 1744, was completed on 20 October 1975 and was inaugurated by late Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam, father of the nation and first Prime Minister of the island.

With its opening in 1975, One&Only Le Saint Géran significantly contributed to the development of the Mauritian tourism industry by setting new standards for style, service and glamour in Mauritius. The hotel played a leading role on the economical front, creating hundreds of jobs and contributing to social development.

The dedication of its staff and the legendary service has earned the hotel international fame throughout the years. Over 600 employees, of which many have been with the company since the beginning, strive for perfection today and pamper guests with the thought that nothing is too much to please them.

In 2003 the resort became a member of the One&Only family. The One&Only Le Saint Géran is located on its own peaceful private peninsula at Belle Mare, on the north eastern coast of Mauritius and features a golf course, a tennis centre, the One&Only Spa by ESPA and recently refurbished suites set in lush tropical gardens.
