Best Western has opened its first hotel in Laos. Enjoying a prime location in the capital city Vientiane, it is the first property in the chain’s plans for a network of hotels around the beautiful country.

Best Western Vientiane Hotel exudes a peaceful atmosphere on Francois Ngin rd, next to the beautiful Mekong River. The hotel is ideal for those seeking a tranquil and charming environment, while boasting the convenience of being close to the city’s business and commercial areas, main markets, restaurants and attractions. Wattay International Airport is just 10 kms away.

“We are very excited to be opening up Laos as a new territory for Best Western,” said Best Western Vice President International Operations Asia Glenn de Souza. “Laos has become an increasingly attractive tourist destination and has considerable potential to develop much further. This underlines the need for the international standard accommodation for which Best Western is recognized as an industry leader worldwide.”

Best Western Vientiane’s facilities include a restaurant serving a variety of local dishes as well as Western cuisine, fitness room, swimming pool, business center and recreational area where guests can make use of complimentary internet 24 hours a day.

Best Western International has impressive expansion plans for Laos. In August 2008 the chain opened an Area Development Office in Vientiane which is working closely with the Asia Head Office in Bangkok, to open hotels in the key destinations of Luang Prabang, Champasak, Xien Khouang and Bokeo within 3 years.
