Mark Heather joins Absolute Hotel Services as Regional Managing Director - India

Absolute Hotel Services has appointed Mark Heather as Regional Managing Director for India based in the Mumbai office, effective 1 February 2010.

Prior to his new assignment as regional managing director for India, Mark Heather was hotel general manager of Eastin Hotel Makkasan Bangkok as well as group general manager overseeing hotel projects under Eastin Hotels & Residences brand. His previous position before joining Absolute Hotel Services Mark was employed as General Manager of Anantara Golden Triangle Resort.

Prior to moving back to Thailand, Mark was a general manager at Harbour View Hotel in Vietnam where he upgraded all the products and services and for the first time brought profit to the owner (Minor International). Previously he opened two luxury boutique resorts in Southern Thailand namely Nakamanda in Krabi and La Flora Khao Lak. He was also general manager at Villa Santi Hotel and Resort in Luang Prabang, Laos.

“With Mark’s expertise in hotel operations and business creation as well as his leadership skills, he will be representing Absolute Hotel Services in India by heading a team of strong local resources which will allow us to operate more effectively and efficiently to expand the brands U Hotels & Resorts and Eastin Hotels & Residences in India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Maldives,” said Jonathan Wigley, CEO of Absolute Hotel Services Co. Ltd.
