Marriott has expanded its mid-market Courtyard by Marriott brand in India with the opening of the Courtyard by Marriott Ahmedabad and Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai International Airport. The two hotels add nearly 500 additional rooms to Marriott’s growing portfolio in India.

The 164-room Courtyard by Marriott Ahmedabad is located in the heart of the city’s commercial district with easy access to both domestic and international airports. Situated in one of India's fastest growing business districts, the hotel is in the vicinity of all major business parks, the state’s largest shopping mall, world-class cinemas and the Gandhi Ashram and Shaking Minarets.

The hotel is currently offering a Long Stay Bonanza promotion, giving guests up to 35% off its best available rates for stays of seven nights and above. Rates start at 4,875 INR per night and include accommodations and complimentary breakfast at MoMo Café. The offer is valid through 17 November 2010 and does not apply to groups of 10 or more rooms.

The hotel’s guestrooms feature laptop size safes, LCD panel TVs, iHome docking stations, latest in-room technology tools and workstations that support all business needs. An executive lounge, 24-hour fitness center and swimming pool allow guests to balance work with pleasure.

MoMo Café serves guests with local and Western dishes while Shakahari offers upscale vegetarian cuisine. Three state-of-the-art meeting rooms are available with the largest one providing a maximum seating capacity for 300 people.

Jeff Tyler is the General Manager and Palak Shah is Director of Sales.

Located at the bustling Mumbai International Airport, Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai International Airport offers 238 rooms, 77 executive level rooms and 16 suites. Operating under a long-term management agreement between Kanakia Construction and Marriott International, the hotel is led by Sanne Emborg as General Manager and Hema Hariramani as Director of Sales and Marketing.

An introductory promotion campaign “You Stay, We Pay,” offers guests 3000 INR in hotel credit, redeemable against any on-site services such as suite upgrades, dining, cocktails, airport transfers and more. This offer is valid until 30 September 2010.

An ideal events venue, the hotel has eight meeting rooms with a total of 12,000 square feet including both indoor and outdoor breakout areas.

The Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai Airport offers several dining outlets to accommodate various guests’ needs. Red Zen features mouthwatering Asian cuisine from lunch to late night while MoMo Café is open 24 hours a day serving Western and Indian favorites to guests and locals alike. MoMo 2 Go is a deli for quick bites such as sandwiches and pastries. After a long day, guests can relax at the pool and enjoy cocktails and appetizers at the pool bar.

Other services at the new hotel include a fully equipped business centre, executive lounge, fitness centre, wireless internet and spa.

“Courtyard is a very popular brand in India and is expanding rapidly,” said Rajeev Menon, area vice president for India, Pakistan, the Maldives and Malaysia. “It offers excellent value in the mid-tier market that is currently underserved. The hotels adapt well to the lifestyle needs of both its domestic and international guests.”

Marriott International’s Courtyard by Marriott brand currently has six properties in India with 10 additional hotels scheduled to open in the next three years.
