Royal Jordanian Signs Airfare Insight Deal with SITA

Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Videos Wednesday, 1 December 2010

Royal Jordanian has signed a five-year deal to migrate to the SITA Airfare Insight platform. Royal Jordanian is the third major Middle Eastern airline to introduce SITA’s innovative fare pricing software in a move to ensure the best fares for its passengers.

Hussein Dabbas, CEO, Royal Jordanian, said, “SITA’s Airfare Insight will make a significant contribution towards speeding up our business processes and allow us to make fully informed fare changes in response to competitors in real time. Royal Jordanian expects that this will increase our passenger yields by reducing time to market for key fares which will beat the competition.

“This innovative software tool will bring many other benefits to our business. Airfare Insight will eliminate paper records as all fare proposals can be reviewed online, filed and distributed electronically. It also allows direct feed of fares to websites and connectivity to revenue accounting and yield management.”

SITA developed Airfare Insight as part of its Horizon passenger management and distribution portfolio, to provide airlines with the integrated capability to manage and control the complexity of end-to-end fares management and distribution processes across the entire sales network.

Over 100 million fares are published worldwide at any one time, and a full-service airline will update fares throughout their distribution network of GDSs, travel agencies and websites, several times a day.

Airfare Insight will be configured to meet Royal Jordanian’s needs as part of the oneworld alliance, and an airline carrying three million passengers and growing at the rate of 10% per annum.
