Carlson Hotels has opened its 54th property in Asia and its first in Brunei. Located in the heart of downtown, the Radisson Hotel Brunei Darussalam, was formerly the Sheraton Bandar Seri Begawan.

The 142-room upscale, contemporary hotel is owned by Hotel Associates Sdn Bhd., a Bruneian investment holding company, and it has a long-standing reputation as one of the best hotels in Brunei.

Under Radisson, the landmark property’s public areas and guest facilities will be refurbished to upgrade the hotel to the brand’s standards. The refurbishment will be completed by 2012.

The hotel features meeting and banquet space accommodating up to 300 people. Distinctive dining and entertainment options will include an all-day dining restaurant with an exhibition kitchen, a buffet breakfast featuring the finest of International and Asian specialties, and a steakhouse and grill.

The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of some of the city’s famous tourist attractions, including the Jame’ Asr Mosque, Brunei’s largest mosque; Kampong Ayer, one of the world’s oldest over-water villages; and the Ulu Ulu Resort.

“Our focus with the Radisson Hotel Brunei Darussalam is to further enhance the guest experience and appeal to guests seeking highly personalised, warm and accommodating hospitality,” said Peter Feran, general manager, Radisson Hotel Brunei Darussalam.
