Accor signs Sofitel in Haikou

Sofitel has signed a management contract for the Hainan Tiantuo Investment Exploit Co. Ltd and Jinyi Real Estate Development Co. Ltds latest hotel property. The signing ceremony was held on 6 March 2010 to celebrate the merging of these two groups.

Sofitel Haikou will be located along Seaside Avenue, which is located in the heart of Haikous busy financial district, also considered as the financial hub of Hainan Island. Close to high-end offices and bank headquarters, Sofitel Haikou will be establishing itself in a prominent area of the city. For those travelers with shopping in mind, Sofitel Haikou will be situated across the road from the site of the Duty Free Mall, which has the only duty free operation on Hainan Island.

Equipped with 398 guestrooms, meeting rooms, a business center, So Spa and fitness facilities, Sofitel Haikou will also boast a ballroom, 8 multi function rooms and numerous restaurants and bars. The hotel will also feature an indoor and an outdoor swimming pool.

The close relations between Tiantuo and Accor Hospitality actually began with Pullman Sanya Yalong Bay Resort & Spa where Tiantuo Group was the contractor of this well-known villa-style resort. We look forward to developing this valuable partnership further in the long term, said Mr Zhang Xin, Chairman of Hainan Tiantuo Investment Exploit Co. Ltd.

The Sofitel Haikou is expected to open in early 2014.
