Solar Powered Club Cars @ Mövenpick Resort & Spa Dead Sea

Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Videos Friday, 10 December 2010

Mövenpick Resort & Spa Dead Sea has become one of the very first hotels in the Middle East to use solar powered Club Cars for guest transportation within the resort.

The EMAS (European Union Eco Management and Audit Scheme) certified resort has already invested in sustainable technology by installing a solar heating system, condensate gas boilers and water saving valves.

The latest investment went into two solar powered Club Cars. Fully charged, the cars operate up to seven hours with the energy provided by a solar cell roof. This is about three times as long as cars operating on a conventional rechargeable battery.

Bruno Huber, the General Manager of the resort, said, “Our new Club Cars transport daily three times as many guests as the conventional model and we reduce our electricity bill – what an incredible win-win situation!”
