Luca Deplano Joins Banyan Tree as Vice President, Marketing

Banyan Tree has appointed Mr Luca Deplano as Vice President, Marketing.

Based at Banyan Tree’s corporate office in Singapore, Mr Deplano is responsible for reinforcing the brand position as the group embarks on an aggressive global growth strategy to double its number of properties by 2013.

Reporting to Mr Arthur Kiong, Managing Director, Hotel Operations Asia Pacific and Senior Vice President, Group Marketing Services, Mr Deplano will focus on growing Banyan Tree’s e-business and align marketing strategy to be exceptionally customer centric.

“We are very pleased to have Luca on board with us in this critical growth phase where we are on track to achieving a global presence,” said Mr Arthur Kiong. “With his vast expertise in leading luxury brands, we are confident that he will add value in strengthening Banyan Tree’s brand position and help us to serve our customers better.”

Mr Deplano has over 14 years of experience in business development as well as strategic planning in the sales and marketing of premium brands such as American Express, Prada, Furla and Cerruti 1881, in both Asia and Europe. His most recent position was Marketing Director, Premium Cards, American Express, based in Hong Kong.

Mr Deplano holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Columbia Business School, and a Degree in Business Administration, majoring in Business and Finance from Bologna University, Italy.
