Colin Baker has been appointed as General Manager of the Park Plaza Beijing West, a 263-room contemporary property, scheduled to open by the year end.

Baker joins the pre-opening team of Park Plaza Beijing West with nearly two decades of hospitality industry experience with international hotel groups. Prior to this, Baker was responsible for 21 properties at Accor Premičre Vacation Club, a network of luxury holiday and lifestyle clubs in Australia.

He has held several leadership positions, including being General Manager of Holiday Inn Adelaide and Parkside Motel, as well as Parkroyal Perth, where Baker was an integral member during the property’s re-launch.

Offering contemporary design, the Park Plaza Beijing West will feature complimentary high speed internet access (as do all Carlson hotels), a selection of dining and entertainment choices, as well as three meeting rooms, and a ballroom for small seminars, major conferences and weddings.

The Park Plaza Beijing West is located at the end of Beijing Chang An Boulevard, the central section of a 38 kilometre road at the famous Tiananmen Square. The hotel is also close to a subway station which is connected to all the city’s major attractions.
