HICAP, scheduled for 14-16 October 2009, at the InterContinental

Silas Kadoorie bought his first shares in The Hongkong Hotel.

Sir Michael was made a Knight Bachelor in
the Queenís Birthday Honours List in June 2005 (United Kingdom),
holds the Gold Bauhinia Star from the Hong Kong SAR, is an
Officier de la Legion díHonneur, a Commandeur des Arts et des
Lettres, and Commandeur de LíOrdre de Leopold II. He holds an
honorary LL.D. from the University of Hong Kong and an honorary
Doctor of Science degree from The Imperial College, London.
The HICAP Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to a leader
who has made a considerable difference in the hotel industry in
the Asia Pacific region and in the world through positive actions
and significant contributions. The last recipient of the Award was
Stephen F. Bollenbach, Co-Chairman & Chief Executive Officer,
Hilton Hotels Corporation in 2007.
