The Waterhouse at South Bund Shanghai appoints Xavier Lim as General Manager

The Waterhouse at South Bund in Shanghai, scheduled to open in early 2010, has appointed veteran hotelier Xavier Lim as General Manager.

Lim, who has more than 15 years of hospitality management experience, most recently served as the Executive Assistant Manager at Millennium Hongqiao Hotel in Shanghai. Prior to the Millennium Hongqiao, Lim was the Director of Catering and Conference Services at The Portman Ritz Carlton, Shanghai and has held other managerial positions at some of the finest properties in Asia, including The Regent Shanghai, Shangri-la Hotel Singapore, Grand Hyatt Singapore, Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel, Singapore and Tung Lok Group.

Lim graduated with honor’s degree from Hawaii Pacific University in Honolulu, majoring in both Travel Industry Management and Marketing. He also received management certificates from the Singapore Hotel Association Training & Educational Centre.

Located next to The Cool Docks lifestyle destination, The Waterhouse at South Bund has been transformed from a historic waterfront property. Operated by The New Majestic Group from Singapore, the hotel features work of some of the world’s top designers, a casual modern European restaurant that offers a brand new culinary concept in Shanghai, an inviting roof-top cocktail lounge, and spectacular panoramic views of the Pudong futuristic skyline and the Huangpu River.

The Waterhouse at South Bund also boasts a 8,000-square-foot (743 sqm) multi-function warehouse that has a double-storey ceiling and a pillar-less, flexible layout.
