Marriott Opens in Beijing

Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Tuesday, 7 April 2009

The Beijing Marriott Hotel Northeast opened its doors late last week in the heart of Beijing’s busy Chaoyang business district.

Marriott International’s ninth hotel in China’s capital operates under a management agreement with Beijing Kehang Investment, under the leadership of Arics Lam - general manager, and Addison Wong the director of marketing.

To celebrate the opening the hotel is currently offering a seven-day advance purchase rate of 900 CNY per night. The ADP promotion is valid through August 31, 2009.

The 321 spacious rooms are fully equipped with amenities to satisfy guests’ every comfort, from luxurious bedding to iPod docking stations. The 200 square meter Presidential Suite offers a stunning view of the city and features a living and dining pavilion.

Guests have a choice of four culinary experiences at the Beijing Marriott Hotel Northeast.

Tamarind, somewhat surprisingly Marriott International’s first Indian restaurant outside of India, takes a modern approach towards classical Indian cuisine and is a sophisticated blend of contemporary dishes infused with the richness and freshness of local Chinese spices.

Choy’s Seafood specializes in traditional Cantonese and Sichuan flavors. A perfect setting for elegant dining, the restaurant features six private dining rooms and is open for lunch and dinner.

Two all-day dining options are Beijing Bistro, where buffets are available throughout the day and The Lounge at the lobby level that offers live entertainment and relaxation zones.

Beijing Marriott Hotel Northeast offers more than 1,600 square meters of banquet and conference space with a grand ballroom measuring 840 square meters and six meeting rooms ranging from 50 – 100 square meters. As the hotel is situated nearby major offices such as Microsoft and IBM, the meetings facilities are ideal for events such as corporate team building, business meetings and major gatherings.

An indoor heated pool is open all day as well as the fully equipped health club with treadmills, bikes, sauna, steam room, heated whirlpool and much more.

For a different kind of pampering Beijing Marriott Hotel Northeast offers Marriott’s Quan spa. Guests can enter the “tranquility zones”, escorted by Quan staff, where they embark on a sensory and relaxing journey of specialized treatments, massages and a wide selection of spa services.

Marriott International’s portfolio in Beijing also includes JW Marriott Hotel Beijing, Beijing Marriott Hotel City Wall, Beijing Marriott Hotel West, Renaissance Beijing Capital Hotel, Renaissance Beijing Hotel, Courtyard by Marriott Beijing Northeast, Courtyard by Marriott Beijing, and Palm Springs, Beijing – Marriott Executive Apartments.
