Free Copenhagen Card for SAS Passengers

Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Tuesday, 7 April 2009

A free Copenhagen Card will be offered to all passengers travelling from Bangkok to Copenhagen, Denmark with SAS Scandinavian Airlines operated flights in April and May 2009.

The offer extends to all SAS passengers travelling to the Danish capital on a return ticket from Bangkok. Ticket prices start from THB 33,400 (excluding taxes and surcharges).

The Copenhagen Card grants free admission for 24 hours to 62 museums and sites in the greater Copenhagen area, including the Hans Christian Andersen and Karen Blixen museums. For the first time, Copenhagen Card-holders will also get free admission to Tivoli Gardens, a beautifully landscaped amusement park in the heart of Copenhagen.

"With free admission to many of Copenhagen's best attractions, we hope our passengers will see more of what this wonderful city has to offer," said Scandinavian Airlines' Bangkok-based Director and General Manager for Southeast Asia, Mr Hakan Olsson. "The Copenhagen Card is a great initiative that goes hand in hand with our continuous effort to introduce innovative travel solutions. Passengers will also gain a better understanding of the Scandinavian culture and heritage they encounter in our airport lounges and onboard our aircrafts."

Card-holders will receive discounts of up to 20% at participating restaurants and on car rentals. And for quick transport from Copenhagen Airport to the city centre, card-holders ride free on the Metro. Once card-holders have reached the city centre, they'll have 24 hours free transport on all buses and suburban S trains within the greater Copenhagen area.

"It's an exciting initiative for SAS passengers and will increase awareness of the Copenhagen Card and the many possibilities Copenhagen has to offer. We hope that a lot of passengers will take advantage of this offer," added Marianne Skafte, Sales and Marketing Manager with Wonderful Copenhagen, the tourist board of Copenhagen.

SAS passengers can pick-up their free Copenhagen Card from the Service Centre in Terminal 3, Copenhagen Airport by presenting their SAS return e-ticket from Bangkok. The card gives one adult and two accompanying children free admission and discounts to the city's sites.

A comprehensive guide in English, German or Danish, a Copenhagen city map and detailed information on the museums and attractions are included.
