Qatar Duty Free has given away a brand new Mercedes S350 in its latest car raffle. The live draw took place at Qatar Duty Free inside Doha International Airport and was witnessed by hundreds of transiting passengers.

Mercedes winner Jose Hernandez, from Vera Cruz in Mexico, was the lucky traveller, winning the brand new car after purchasing his ticket in Doha while in transit to Mexico via Europe.

“Having these luxury cars on display at the airport draws a lot of attention from travellers through Doha International Airport. We will continue to have more exciting cars at Qatar Duty Free,” said Qatar Duty Free Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker. “We’ve given away over 70 luxury cars in the last few years and I’d like to offer my congratulations to Jose Hernandez, the winner of the latest car – a Mercedes S350.”

Entry into Qatar Duty Free car draws is available only to passengers travelling through Doha International Airport and future draws will see an Aston Martin DB9 and a brand new Lamborghini Gallardo given away as prizes. Tickets cost QAR450 (US$125) for the Aston Martin draw and QAR650 (US$180) for the Lamborghini Gallardo and are limited.

Qatar Duty Free also frequently holds US$1 million dollar cash draws where the lucky winner can become an instant millionaire. Departing and transiting passengers at Doha International Airport can purchase the QAR950 (US$263) tickets for the chance to win a million dollars.

The last car draw in August saw Briton, Murtaza Jivanjee winning an Aston Martin DB9.
