U Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with KTC Media to manage a brand new residence in the Nakhon Ratchasima province of Thailand - the Mountain Lodge Khao Yai.

The 6 room residence which can accompany groups of up to 14 guests is located atop a mountain overlooking a vast area of forest from both private balconies and public areas.

The  Mountain Lodge Khao Yai is an ideal location for executive teambuilding and small corporate group outings or social gatherings. A glass door living room and dining room areas can be converted to a board room for meeting purposes.

Other facilities include a large infinity swimming pool with sun loungers, open kitchen so guests can see the culinary activities and a fitness center to help keep guest fit.

The service concept will be all inclusive with breakfast, lunch, barbecue dinner, soft drinks, beer and resident butlers to take care of all the details as well as concierge to help guests with other activities you wish to enjoy in Khao Yai.

Mountain Lodge will become a facility of the previously announced 78 room U Khao Yai which is scheduled to open in late 2010. Mountain Lodge Khao Yai will be open for bookings from June 1, 2009.

Khao Yai is the home of The Dong Phayayen-Khao Yai Forest Complex, one of the seven natural sites on UNESCOs World Heritage adjacent to Khao Yai National Park, Thailands first national park which lies largely in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, but also includes parts of Saraburi, Prachinburi and Nakhon Nayok Provinces.

The forest complex spans 230 km between Ta Phraya National Park on the Cambodian border in the east, and Khao Yai National Park in the west.

It is a rugged mountainous area ranging between 100 m to 1,351 m high with about 7,500 of its 615,500 hectares above 1,000 m.

The site is home to more than 3,000 species of plants, 320 species of birds and 67 species of mammals, including Asiatic black bears, Asian elephants, gaur, tigers, gibbons, Indian sambar deer, Indian muntjac, dholes, and wild pigs.

Apart from natural attractions there are other activities that visitors can do while in Khao Yai include rafting, golfing, trekking and horse riding. Khao Yai is also a wine region and there are some famous wineries and vineyards where you can taste good local produced wine.
