Continental Airlines, which has just joined Star Alliance, has restructured and reinforced its sales and marketing division in the Asia Pacific region.

The organizational restructuring efforts include the appointment of Matt Miller as Managing Director, Asia Pacific. He previously served at the airline's Houston headquarters as Managing Director, International Pricing & Revenue Management. Based in Tokyo, Miller is now responsible for overseeing Continental's sales, marketing, pricing and revenue management throughout the Asia Pacific region, including Guam, Honolulu, Japan, mainland China and Hong Kong.

Walter Dias, Managing Director for Greater China and Southeast Asia, Toru Takahashi, Senior Director - Japan sales & marketing and David Kendell, Director - sales and marketing for Guam and Micronesia, will report directly to Matt Miller. Additionally four management representatives of Pricing & Revenue Management divisions in Japan, Guam and Houston will also report directly to Miller.

"Our Asia Pacific regional sales and marketing teams have all pulled together to deliver positive results for Continental, despite the current global economic downturn," said Dave Hilfman, Continental Airlines Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales. "Now that Continental Airlines has joined Star Alliance and such outstanding partner airlines like Air China, ANA, Shanghai Airlines, Singapore and United, we find ourselves in a significantly enhanced competitive position to attract new and increased business. We also consider ourselves very fortunate to have a superb team of sales & marketing professionals throughout the Asia Pacific region led by some truly talented leaders like Matt, Wally, Toru, and David, all who have many years of experience in the airline industry. I have every confidence that the latest organizational changes will position Continental for continued success as we work closely with our corporate clients and travel agency partners to meet their needs and grow our business."
