First Radisson Plaza Hotel in SE Asia Opens in Phuket

The Radisson Plaza Resort Phuket Panwa Beach officially opened for business this week.

The hotel, nestled on Phuket Island’s Southeastern coastline in a secluded cove along the developing Makham Bay, features 211 contemporary Thai designed guest accommodations.

The resort is managed by Carlson Hotels which has another six properties under development in Thailand.

“This resort is an important addition to our fast expanding Asia Pacific property portfolio and marks a significant milestone for the Radisson brand. I’m confident it will quickly become a leisure destination of choice,” said Jean-Marc Busato, managing director – Asia Pacific, Carlson Hotels Worldwide.

Guests at the resort can enjoy one of the nine ocean villas and 15 pool villas which come with an infinity edge plunge pool.

There are also three meeting rooms, including a ballroom with floor-to-ceiling windows for banquet events which can accommodate up to120 people, theatre style.

Serving authentic Mediterranean cuisine at its speciality restaurant Azur, the resort showcases a range of activities and facilities including kayaking, windsurfing, yoga and meditation.

Other resort amenities include Talay Spa, a wellness spa offering six treatment rooms; Form, a life-style fitness centre; Sapparot Club, a dedicated zone for children four to 12 years old along with a children’s only pool and waterslide; Edge, a swim-up pool bar, and Octo, a lobby lounge that showcases spectacular panoramic views over the emerald Andaman Sea.

Phuket Island is a short 80 minute flight from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok and offers a plethora of exciting attractions.
