Significant Fuel Surcharge Reductions at Qantas

Qantas has reduced its international fuel surcharges. The lower surcharges, which apply to all Australian point of sale tickets issued on or after today - Tuesday 3 March 2009 - are:

One way from Australia (A$)
- UK and Europe - $95 (was $160)
- Mainland USA, Canada, South America, South Africa and India - $85 (was $130)
- Asia, Pacific, Honolulu - $55 (was $95)
- New Zealand - $30 (was $55)

"With recent falls in oil prices, we removed domestic fuel surcharges on 1 January and have now reduced international surcharges three times since October 2008," said Executive General Manager Qantas, Mr John Borghetti.

"We will continue to monitor the situation, with our international surcharges to remain under ongoing review."
