Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Tuesday, 3 March 2009

To mark the opening of the group’s 1000th property, Carlson Hotels Worldwide, one of the world’s leading hotel companies, has partnered with the United Nations Environment Programme to plant 1,000 trees around the world.

In Singapore, executive members of the Asia Pacific operations recently participated in a tree-planting exercise organised by the Singapore Environmental Council. The tree that was donated and planted by Carlson Hotels Worldwide belongs to the Horsfieldia family of plants, a threatened species which is native to Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.

The tree planting exercise is also part of the hotel group’s wider campaign to support responsible business and global environmental initiatives internationally.
