Bunga Raya Island Resort Joins Preferred Boutique

Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Wednesday, 29 July 2009

The Bunga Raya Island Resort has become the latest property in Malaysia to join Preferred Boutique.

As sensuous and exotic as the flower that bears its name, the Bunga Raya Island Resort is a secluded island hideaway of just 47 timbered villas, set on a coral reef island off the coast of Borneo.

Over 50 species of Malaysia’s national flower, the Bunga Raya (Hibiscus) have been meticulously and expertly cultivated throughout the resort with each villa being named for a different species.

“At its heart, Bunga Raya is truly about preserving and coexisting in our natural environment,” said General Manager, Jonathan Wise. “We have designed every aspect of the resort to allow our guests to immerse themselves in a pristine, unspoiled and luxurious island paradise and just like foot prints in the sand, it remains untouched when they depart leaving exactly as they found it, for the next visitors to enjoy.”

Villas range from simple timbered dwellings, steps from the beach, to opulent 3 bedroom multi-level units with wrap around decks and indulgent private plunge pools.

In-room treats include Frette linens, 32” Flat Panel TVs with full satellite service, DVD Players, Bose Wave Radios with Ipod docking stations complete with a selection of CDs to enjoy.

The Solace Spa features exotic jungle spa pavilions which blend Traditional Asian and Western treatments to help capture the restorative powers of indigenous plants and oils. Solace also features an “Ice Room” to compliment the sauna.

Recreational activities include a PADI certified dive centre, snorkeling, kayaks, jungle trekking. The resorts also owns a fleet of boats that range from 28ft to the opulent and luxurious 64ft Rafflesia.

Oceanfront Dining is available at the laid back Beach Bar & Grill or the casual elegance of The Clubhouse -a modern European Bistro with a contemporary flair. A subterranean wine cave holds one of the largest wine selections in the region. For the ultimate overwater experience, guests can reserve a Private Ocean Pavilion for dinning over the South China Sea.

While normal rates will begin at US$649/night, a special Introductory rate is being offered at US$ 350/night for a Standard Villa inclusive of 3 meals daily for two guests, deluxe island transfers, use of all non-motorized water sports equipment, taxes and service charges.
