Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Thursday, 29 January 2009

India’s Jet Airways has introduced an additional free check-in baggage allowance of 10 kgs at no cost, over and above the normal baggage allowance offered to passengers. The offer is exclusively available to those passengers availing of the airline’s Web, Kiosk or SMS Check-in Facilities.

The additional baggage allowance, applicable at the airport of departure on all Jet Airways operated flights only, is valid for those passengers checking in for travel between February 1, 2009 and February 28, 2009 (both days inclusive).

This offer is available only on sectors/airports eligible for Web, Kiosk or SMS Check-in across the airline’s network.

Jet Airways’ JetPrivilege members will also be eligible for this 10 kgs additional baggage offer, over and above the Privilege-specified baggage allowance based on the passenger membership tier.

In order to claim the offer, passengers must produce a valid Jet Airways Travel Document, boarding pass and photo identification.

Mr. Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, CEO, Jet Airways, said, “Passengers can greatly reduce or eliminate unnecessary waiting time at airports by availing of Jet Airways’ hassle-free Web, SMS or Kiosk check-in facilities on select domestic and international sectors. With the added incentive of the additional baggage offer, we are confident that more passengers will look beyond traditional ground check-in facilities, where possible, leading to faster, quicker and more efficient operations at airports.”
