Jet Airways Wins Two Abacus TAFI Awards

India’s Jet Airways won two awards in the ‘Best Eastbound Airline from India’ and ‘Best Domestic Airline in India’ categories at the second edition of the Abacus- TAFI (Travel Agents Federation of India) Awards at the Le Meridien, Chiang Mai in Thailand last week.

The awards were collected on behalf of Jet Airways by Mr. Gilbert George, Senior General Manager Sales, India.

The Abacus-TAFI awards seek to honour the very best in the travel trade, as perceived by their industry peers. Winners were selected via an online poll and nationwide polling exercise within the Indian travel industry, in association with AC Nielsen, the research partner for the Abacus-TAFI Awards 2009.

According to Mr. Nikos Kardassis, Acting CEO, Jet Airways, “The Abacus-TAFI awards are among the foremost awards in the Indian travel trade industry, with the winners selected by their peers in the industry. Jet Airways is delighted to receive the ‘Best Eastbound Airline from India’ and ‘Best Domestic Airline’ awards and will strive to further raise the bar with regards to overall service excellence among airlines in India and abroad.”

Jet Airways currently operates a fleet of 84 aircraft, which includes 10 Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft, 12 Airbus A330-200 aircraft, 48 next generation Boeing 737-700/800/900 aircraft and 14 modern ATR 72-500 turboprop aircraft. With an average fleet age of 4.60 years, the airline has one of the youngest aircraft fleet in the world.

Flights to 63 destinations span the length and breadth of India and beyond, including New York (both JFK and Newark), Toronto, Brussels, London (Heathrow), Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Colombo, Bangkok, Kathmandu, Dhaka, Kuwait, Bahrain, Muscat, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Jeddah, Sharjah and Riyadh.
